Stafford USD 349 Board of Education is pleased to announce the selection of Corey Reese as the Superintendent for the 2023-2024 school year. Mr. Reese is currently the Superintendent of USD 243, Lebo Waverly. He has served as their Superintendent since July 2016. Prior to this, Mr. Reese was the Superintendent/High School Principal at USD 224, Clifton Clyde from June 2012-July 2016. He has been in Education since 1993. Mr. Reese and his wife, Janet have four sons, Derek, Brian, Kyle, and Corey Jr. " My family and I are extremely grateful to become a part of Stafford Schools. Stafford is a wonderful community. We look forward to meeting everyone and working together to support Stafford School's students and their families" says Mr. Reese.
The Board of Education says that Corey Reese emerged from a very thorough search process as the right candidate to lead the School District. The community input, including the involvement of stakeholders was a key factor in the success of the Superintendent search process. The input from the community was very helpful to the selection process.
After considering and interviewing multiple qualified candidates, Mr. Reese’s hiring was unanimously approved by the Board of Education. “As a Board, we feel we made the right selection to serve our students and our community,” says USD 349 Board President Dawn Schreiber. Mr. Reese will begin his leadership of USD 349 on July 1, 2023.


Tomorrow, Tuesday the 21st, is a half-day attendance. Students are dismissed at 12:20pm and Conferences are from 1-8pm.
There is no STARS after school program tomorrow.

There will be a pep rally at 8:15 tomorrow to cheer on our SHS Boys Basketball Team. The public is invited.

Mr. Reese is the last of three candidates that the USD 349 Stafford Board of Education will be interviewing. Candidates were selected for interviews based on their fit with desired characteristics that were developed with input from focus groups and an online community survey utilized during the search process.
Mr. Reese is currently serving as the Superintendent of USD 243, Lebo/Waverly School District. He is in his 7th year in this position. Previously Mr. Reese served as a Principal/Superintendent for 4 years at USD 224, Clifton-Clyde.

We will be taking a pep bus to Barton Community College for Thursday's 4:00 game.
The bus will leave from in front of the high school at 2 :45 on Thursday. The cost will be $5.00 to ride; admission to the game is $10.00. We will plan a pep bus for Friday pending the results of Thursday's game. Please contact the school at 620-234-5248 if you would like ride.


John Johnson will be interviewing for the position of Superintendent with Stafford Board of Education on March 7, 2023.
Mr. Johnson is the second of three candidates that the USD 349 Stafford Board of Education will be interviewing. Candidates were selected for interviews based on their fit with desired characteristics that were developed with input from focus groups and an online community survey utilized during the search process.
Mr. Johnson is currently serving as the High School Principal in Humboldt, KS. He is in his 12th year in this position. Previously Mr. Johnson served as a Teacher for 9 years at Humboldt Middle/High School.

Mr. Clark is currently serving as the Early Childhood – 12 Principal in Olpe, KS. He is in his 14th year in that position. Previously Mr. Clark served as a Teacher for 14 years at Moundridge High School and 1 year for Nickerson High School.
